Spatial Interior for Mooney

Amazing, I can hardly believe it's the same airplane, and so quick. Spatial Interior panels complement existing or new upholstery while creating more room. A unique repair process restores upper plastics. Your Mooney can once again have the look it deserves for less than you think.

Overlapping panels fitted with use of see-through templates are secured with dual lock fasteners practically eliminating the need for screws. The result is an interior removed in minutes and reinstalled just as quick. In some models, emergency landing gear and adjustable rear seat controls are made accessible through small side panel openings and rotating covers. Your mechanic will appreciate the difference.

Quickly applied aerosol color finishes from SEM and Dupli-Color provide a pleasing touch. Top coating with a clear hard finish creates a durable surface resistant to UV and scratching. Truck bed aerosol is suggested for protecting rudder pedal areas. Silicone rubber trim enhances spatial panel overlap joints and window frame edges. Arm accents installed in moments look great and take absolutely no space.

Optional color coordinated storage pockets create practical space for charts, checklists, safety and personal items. There is even a special spot for your iPad. Coordinating shades of gray and tan are in stock.

Soft aluminum, acrylic tape, two-part automotive epoxy and glazing compounds, sandpaper and a series of aerosols do miraculous things to plastics that many would have discarded. Almost as exciting is that reconditioned parts will fit. New parts or fabric covering are also options. Intimidating is a good word. With care and labeling wires, louver vent headliners can be removed for reconditioning. Later model, cumbersome and heavy eyeball vent headliners containing hoses, wires and lights can be reconditioned in place. Failed mounting areas can be reinforced with custom shaped washers and aluminum stiffeners. Brittle louver vents can be replaced with retrofit eyeball assemblies. 

As side panels are already finished, upholsterers are poised to do what they do best; upholster seats. This is a perfect time to continue the spatial concept as seat backs can be designed to increase legroom. If your Mooney history has kept original plastics in repairable condition, revitalizing may be an option. Using materials and techniques perfected in the Spatial Interior foot, door jamb, spar and baggage areas and adding a lower pilot side panel are all that is needed. Remove your glareshield with ease while eliminating that unsightly blemish, common on J and K models. Trimming a slot allows the glareshield to gently slip past the center post. An attractive, uniquely shaped powder-coated plate with matching underlying mount fits perfectly, squeezing the glareshield while covering blemishes and the widened center slit. 

The Mooney Spatial Interior was designed to be affordable. After clearing many certification hurdles and reaching the end of a significant install learning curve, low costs remain a priority.

Though ultimate return to service requires an inspector, the install process and plastic reconditioning were developed with the possibility of owner involvement.
